Supervisory Program Manager (Regional Director)

This position will allow you to utilize your expertise in various administrative skills to provide project-related, advisory, and technical services to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) management. This position starts at a salary of $123,298.00 (GS-15, Step 1) to $160,286.00 (GS-15, Step 10) with promotion potential to $160,286 (GS-15 Step 10). In this Supervisory position, you will become a key member of a team of Homeland Security professionals serving as the Regional Director, assisting in planning, evaluating, integrating and coordinating initiatives and staff actions. Typical work assignments include:
Directing subordinate supervisors concerning information technology, telecommunications and enforcement technology work. Managing regional activities, which include outreach, technology modernization projects and deployment activities supporting CBP. Managing the customer interface by coordinating with executive leadership in the various program offices across CBP. Provides oversight of advanced technology requirements to meet CBP's demand for products and services, customer relationship management, incident management, customer-facing service delivery, communications and training. Establishing workload priorities and initiates assignments based on the difficulty, complexity, type of work and incumbent capabilities. Providing written and oral reports with conclusions, alternatives and recommendations on national policies, projects or studies for DHS as well as draft and approve standard operating procedures.
Experience:
You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
Managing regional activities, which include outreach, technology modernization projects and deployment activities Maintaining a set of information and technology priorities, initiatives and activities that strike an appropriate balance among competing demands. Providing restoration efforts for technology related or natural disaster incidents. Recommending program changes on Information Security and Cyber Security directives, identifies advantages and disadvantages. Providing written and oral reports with conclusions, alternatives and recommendations on national policies, projects or studies. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must:
Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 10/28/2019.
